Sappy but Happy Friday

I am probably known for being a bit curmudgeonly, let’s be honest!

When this post goes live I will be part way through a day of repeated Video Conference training sessions (the same thing over and over in 30 min slots) with a lot of top level Corporate people.

Which is fine! I’m happy to spend the day doing that, but it can be a little trying, especially as technology usually conspires against me in these things.

So, as it is Friday, the weekend starts at close of play today and while I admit that I am getting soft as I get older, here is a video that made me smile because of its sheer enthusiasm and fun. Plus it is still Apple related.

My favourite thing is the Apple Store Security, you’ll see what I mean at the end. I hope this video makes you smile :-)

Next thing you know I’ll be watching Glee…

I love this silly video by ThinkGeek to advertise their very cool R2-D2 Remote Control Watch thing. Great Darth Vader outfit too. Enjoy!

Cars 2 – Can’t Wait!

I am probably more excited about seeing Cars 2 later this year (22nd July) than my kids for two reasons:

  1. It looks like great fun (and I secretly love watching Cars)
  2. It will be my 3 year old Son’s first ever cinema experience – he loves Cars and Mater’s Tall Tales, so we thought this would be an ideal first viewing for him, though probably not in 3D.

Time for my wife and I to start arguing about discussing who will take our Daughter to see the 3D version. Be sure to watch the extended Trailer below in HD at Full Screen.

Buzzing the Grand Canyon in a Jet Fighter

This amazing video from Air & Space Magazine (complete with Joe Satriani soundtrack) is a slice of times past when rules on military air flight were not as strict as they are today.

Taken from two separate flights in 1959 and 1960, this video shows just how close the pilots flew to the Canyon walls and floor, it looks really scary, but so much fun!

I understand the reasons why these kind of antics aren’t allowed any more, but it is a great slice of aviation history that we can all see thanks to the Internet, and thank you to Air & Space Magazine for hosting this and lots of other really great Flight videos, including this painstakingly prepared timelapse of the Shuttle preparation and launch:

So Funny, and Creative

I haven’t posted much here recently, so I thought I would add some stuff that I am looking at or, in this case, laughing at.  This is so great, it had me laughing out loud for ages (I’m actually quite jealous!).

You may have seen this Justin Timberlake ‘Sexy Back’ cover by Brett Domino before, but if not, it is a great lunchtime laugh.  Enjoy!
